The order of the three measurements doesn’t matter. Sizes include a 0.5 cm tolerance for rounding. Limits as of October 2026; check your airline before you fly.

    How the checker works

    • It sorts your three measurements from largest to smallest and compares them with the airline’s limits, so it doesn’t matter which side you call length.
    • Delta and Hawaiian also limit the total of all three sides to 45 inches, and the checker tests that too.
    • Weight is checked only for airlines that publish a limit, such as Frontier (35 lb) or Lufthansa (8 kg).
    • For carry-ons, it notes when the cheapest fare doesn’t include one.

Measure your bag the way airlines do

Measure the packed bag, with the handle pushed down, from the floor to the top of the handle, then across the widest point and from the back of the wheels to the front of the most packed pocket. Suitcase sizes on product pages are often given without wheels, so measure your own bag if you can.

Want the full list? See carry-on size by airline and personal item size by airline, which also list which fares include a carry-on.

Limits are taken from each airline’s published baggage rules as of October 2026. They include wheels and handles. Airlines change these rules often, and a basic fare, a small regional jet or a full flight can change what you are allowed to bring, so check your booking before you fly.

    FAQ

Is the checker a guarantee that my bag will be accepted?

No. It uses each airline’s published limits, but gate agents decide, and a full flight or a small aircraft can mean your bag is checked anyway.

Why does my 22-inch suitcase show as too big?

Most likely because 22 inches is its size without wheels. Enter the height including wheels and handle.
